Presented at the Keating Theatre, this upcoming production brings one of literature’s most recognizable characters into Sarasota’s rich performing-arts landscape. Pinocchio is familiar to nearly everyone, but its particular power lies in the way each generation discovers it anew. Children may follow the blue fairy, the transformations, and the promise of adventure; adults may notice the loneliness beneath the whimsy, or the complicated tenderness of a parent trying to guide a wayward child home.
