In a region where a new storefront, studio, consultancy, or restaurant can change the character of a neighborhood, small business is more than an economic category—it is part of Sarasota-Manatee’s daily life. The people behind those ventures often work independently, but they do not have to build their businesses alone. The Small Business Collaborative offers a place for that kind of shared momentum.

Meeting monthly, the collaborative supports entrepreneurs and small business owners with access to education, practical resources, and peer collaboration. Its focus is both pragmatic and communal: helping members navigate the decisions that come with growth while creating relationships with others who understand the particular pressures—and possibilities—of running a small enterprise.

That exchange matters in a fast-changing region. Lakewood Ranch and the wider Sarasota area continue to attract new residents, customers, and ambitious business owners, bringing energy as well as competition. For a small company, a useful introduction, a candid conversation, or a timely piece of advice can carry real weight. A recurring forum gives members room to compare notes, identify opportunities, and develop the kind of professional relationships that rarely emerge from a quick networking encounter.

The collaborative is designed as a manageable commitment, meeting for one to two hours each month. Its regular schedule also gives participants a dependable point of connection amid the unpredictability of running a business. Co-chaired by Keith Pandeloglou and Chris Williams, the group reflects a straightforward idea: local businesses are stronger when their owners have access not only to information, but also to one another.

The meetings take place at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, a fitting setting for a conversation centered on the region’s working community. Members interested in learning more can contact Pandeloglou at Keith@utcventuregroup.com or Williams at cwilliams@aginto.com. Committee meetings are open to members only, making membership the first step for entrepreneurs who want to participate in the discussion.

The next Small Business Collaborative meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, 5391 Lakewood Ranch Blvd N. As the first Wednesday of the month, it continues the group’s regular rhythm of education, resource-sharing, and peer connection.
