At Nathan Benderson Park, the morning arrives with its own particular rhythm: oars tapping the water, runners tracing the shoreline, and the wide Florida sky brightening over the lake. Now, there is another reason to linger. Sip N’ Brew brings a simple pleasure to the park’s outdoor setting—a chance to pause over coffee, conversation, and the pleasures of being outside.

Held every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sip N’ Brew offers a welcoming midmorning gathering at a place better known for motion and competition. Visitors can settle into the Playground and Event Pavilion, take in the park’s expansive landscape, and make an outing of what might otherwise be a quick coffee run. For parents, walkers, cyclists, visitors, and anyone whose day begins at a more leisurely pace, the event adds an easy social note to one of Sarasota’s most active public spaces.

That setting matters. Nathan Benderson Park has grown into far more than a venue for rowing and international sporting events. Its paths, open lawns, playground, and waterfront have made it a gathering place for the broader Sarasota-Bradenton community, accommodating everything from fitness and recreation to festivals and family afternoons. The park’s appeal lies partly in its scale: even on a busy day, there is room to breathe, watch the water, and feel briefly removed from the rush of the city.

Sip N’ Brew fits naturally into that atmosphere. It is less about a formal program than a recurring invitation—to meet a friend, enjoy a warm drink, or begin a morning with a little more room around it. In a region where outdoor life is woven into the calendar, the event reflects a distinctly Sarasota instinct: pair community with sunshine, and let the landscape do some of the hosting.

Sip N’ Brew takes place Thursday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Playground and Event Pavilion at Nathan Benderson Park. The gathering is also scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the same hours, offering regular opportunities to make the park part of the week’s routine.
