By evening, Sarasota’s relationship with the water can feel almost instinctive: the day softens, the light turns silver, and attention drifts toward the Gulf. At Mote SEA, that sense of connection will become the focus of a slower, quieter ritual—one designed not to send participants home energized, but restored.

SEArenity Restore: Evening Restorative Yoga invites guests to end the day with gentle movement, mindful breathing and deep relaxation. Led by Samskara Yoga, the all-levels practice centers on fully supported postures, allowing the body to release tension without strain and the mind to settle without demands. It is yoga as exhale: unhurried, accessible and attentive to the simple act of being present.

The setting gives the experience particular resonance. Mote Science Education Aquarium exists at the intersection of discovery and stewardship, offering visitors a closer look at the marine environments that shape life along Florida’s coast. Practicing within that atmosphere shifts the familiar idea of wellness outward. Rest becomes not only a personal reset, but a chance to consider the rhythms of the ocean—its patience, movement and capacity for renewal.

For Sarasota, where water is both landscape and livelihood, that connection carries weight. The event offers a calm counterpoint to the region’s busy cultural calendar and an opportunity to experience Mote in a more contemplative way. Rather than asking participants to master a demanding sequence, the evening emphasizes support: props, breath and stillness working together to create space in an often overfull day.

Restorative yoga can be especially appealing to those new to the practice, as well as seasoned practitioners looking for a gentler approach. The evening’s all-levels format welcomes both, with the emphasis on comfort and awareness rather than flexibility or performance. In the peaceful surroundings of Mote SEA, even a familiar pose may feel newly connected to place.

SEArenity Restore: Evening Restorative Yoga takes place Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Mote Science Education Aquarium, 225 University Town Center Drive in Sarasota. With Samskara Yoga guiding the practice, the gathering offers a thoughtful way to close the day: breathing more slowly, resting more fully and leaving with a renewed sense of connection to the ocean.
